NATURESPEAK was commissioned by FLORIADE EXPO 2022 and exhibited at the world exposition in Alemere (NL) during the summer of 2022
Based on a selection of pastoral poetry and philosophical writings on nature from the past centuries, NATURESPEAK was trained to utter different voices addressing nature through machine learned poetry. The artwork mimics lyrical writing where nature is both an object of contemplation and of conversation. It does so in situ in the forest of Floridade. While the natural world has been a central subject of poetry for centuries, NATURESPEAK articulates an encounter between poetics and machine speech.
